Portsmouth NH is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Portsmouth NH is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Christmas is fast approaching and one of the sure signs is the appearance of the official Christmas tree in Market Square in downtown Portsmouth NH. Our tree is a whopper this year and almost completely covers the concrete planter it sets in.

Decorations will be added next week in time for the annual tree lighting on December 2nd at 5:30 PM. The illuminated Christmas parade steps off at 6:00 p.m. at the 800 block of Islington Street and ends in Market Square in front of the Christmas tree.

This is always a happy and fun event for kids of all ages. I hope all our city residents and visitors make plans now to attend the annual Portsmouth NH Christmas Tree lighting and Christmas parade. I hear Santa Claus will be featured once again and marching bands, antique autos, and lots of other participants.
