“How is the market?” is a common real estate question.

One of the most common questions we hear as Realtors is, “How is the market?”. That is an even more relevant question during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

One thing we need to remember about the pandemic is that it’s a health crisis, not a financial crisis. While the economy is not as robust as before, and unemployment is currently higher than earlier this year, buyers are still out in force looking to buy a new home.

ShowingTime is a service real estate brokers use to set up buyer showings for current listings. Here’s a chart from them showing 2020 year to date New Hampshire showings up 28.0% from the same period in 2019 despite the pandemic.

So in answer to the question, “How is the market?” the market is robust now with high buyer demand and also frustrations among those buyers caused by not enough houses for sale. We’re hearing lots of stories from local Realtors about listing a home for sale and getting multiple offers in just a few days, many over the asking price. We listed a house about 30 days ago, did a Facebook Live open house, which generated multiple showings and had it under agreement in just a few days.

If you have a house to sell in the New Hampshire Seacoast or southern Maine area, we would love to hear from you. We have a Virtual Home Selling system that gets your house sold quickly, safely, and for a great price.
